A new platform and a new electric and electronic architecture for the New Captur have allowed us to include the latest technological developments to optimise the on-board experience. The vehicle is crammed with equipment and driving aids that provide the driver and passengers with comfort and well-being worthy of a higher category.
by Nicolas LE-BOUCHER
Succeeding a best-seller, the New Renault Captur has re-invented itself by reinforcing those qualities that made it a success. In addition to the key benefits of its older brother, such as its user friendliness, modularity and comfort, the interior has taken a step up in terms of appearance and technology. Better equipped, more modern and with higher quality levels, the passenger compartment is bringing technologies worthy of a higher segment to a wider public for greater on-board well-being.
Here are four examples of the equipment available on board the New Captur.
Manoeuvring made easy with the 360° camera
Using four cameras, the 360° camera offers a bird’s-eye view of the car. Any obstacles around the vehicle are displayed in a single image on the Renault EASY LINK multimedia system screen. This technology makes parking and tricky manoeuvres, for example, driving down narrow streets, far easier.
Sliding rear bench seat
The sliding rear bench seat has been retained for the second generation. It can be moved 16 cm backwards or forwards, from either the passenger compartment or the boot.
Wireless recharging for smartphones
The New Renault Captur is equipped with a (wireless) induction charger for smartphones. It is fitted below the gear lever on the Flying Console, thus contributing to the streamlined look of the passenger compartment.
Bespoke driving experience
The MULTI-SENSE system makes it first appearance. Engine mapping, steering, passenger compartment lighting ambience and the digital instrument panel can all be configured to match the driver’s mood. There are three modes available: Eco, Sport and MySense (personalised parameters).
