Enrollment of electrified, hybrid and gas vehicles grew 63.5% in September

In the ninth month of 2019, 12,751 vehicles of these types have been delivered in Spain.
All Autonomous Communities increased their purchases of hybrid vehicles in September. This market grows 55%.

Madrid, October 1, 2019 – Enrollment of electrified, hybrid and gas vehicles (passenger cars, ATVs, commercial and industrial vehicles and buses) increased in September by 63.5% compared to the same month of the previous year. They reached in this way the 12,751 units in the ninth month of the year, of which 11,891, were passenger cars, with a growth of 61.7% in September.

In the first nine months of the year, a total of 109,403 electrified, hybrid and gas cars have been registered, which represents an increase of 38% compared to the same period of 2018 in which 79,227 units were registered. In the market as a whole, 117,714 units were registered, 40.5% more than in the same month of the previous year.

Both the sales of electrified vehicles and those of hybrids and gas are growing. All Autonomous Communities increased their purchases of hybrid vehicles, which increased by 55%. Baleares, Cantabria, Castilla La Mancha and Galicia reduced their purchases of plug-in electric and hybrid vehicles.

ELECTRIC VEHICLES – Zero Label

Sales of electric vehicles rose 45.6% during September, reaching 941 units registered in a month, bordering the 1,000 maximum units sold in a month. Madrid accounts for 769 units of the total, followed by Catalonia, where 278 units were sold. In the first nine months, they grow by 90%, with 9,152 units sold.

PLUG-IN HYBRID VEHICLES – Zero Label / ECO Label

The sales of plug-in hybrid vehicles, in the ninth month of the year, have reached 540 units registered, 46% more than in the same period last year. They record a 27% growth in the whole of the year, exceeding 5,010 units.

GAS VEHICLES – ECO Label

Gas vehicles reached a total of 2794 units registered in the ninth month of the year, 112.2% more than in the same month last year. In the accumulated year, sales have grown 51%, to 27,270 units.

HYBRID VEHICLES – ECO Label

Vehicles with non-plug-in hybrid technology reached 8,476 units registered. This figure has meant a 55% increase over the same month of 2018. The majority option continues to be hybridization with gasoline, although diesel hybrids are growing strongly.

DIESEL AND GASOLINE – Label C

The total market registrations in gasoline (passenger cars, commercial and industrial vehicles, buses and quadricycles) represent 49% of the total registrations in the ninth month of the year. Diesel vehicle registrations represent 37.6% of registrations in September.
