Help During the Bay Area Power Outages

In response to the planned Bay Area power outages which are slated to impact hundreds of thousands of residents this week, Lyft is committed to doing our part to help those in need. We’re activating our Wheels For All program to help those in affected areas move to designated resource centers.

We’re providing free rides to select centers, which will remain open during daylight hours only, in order to give people access to restrooms, bottled water, electronic-device charging and air-conditioned seating.

Rides can be accessed using the code POWERRELIEF19, valid for 2 rides up to $15 each, from now until 10/15 at 11:59 p.m. while rides are available. We advise checking resource center operational hours and availability before visiting the sites here.

Lyft is also joining forces with United Way and 211 to offer free rides to individuals who meet specific criteria and are in need of evacuation in Ventura and Oakland.

As safety is fundamental to Lyft, we are continuing to monitor the conditions and communicate with Lyft drivers, riders and government officials. As always, we look forward to providing rides to those who need them.
