At the Roc d’Azur event, PEUGEOT Cycles world revealed its high-performance electric mountain bike, the eM01 FS PowerTube (e = electric, M = Mountain, 01 = high-end, FS = Full Suspension, PowerTube = battery integrated in frame). The new model targets competitive riders and experienced amateurs with its lightweight and exclusively designed frame, BOSCH motor and built-in screen. PEUGEOT Cycles also announced two partnerships for the 2020 season, one with LE COQ SPORTIF on the development of a range of lifestyle apparel and one with LA PLAGNE on the promotion of summertime electric mountain biking at the world’s most visited resort. Roc d’Azur, the leading mountain bike show drawing nearly 150,000 enthusiasts, was held in Fréjus, France, from 9 to 13 October.
PEUGEOT eM01 FS PowerTube: a concentrate of PEUGEOT Cycles know-how
The eM01 FS tops PEUGEOT’s range of electric mountain bikes. The new model’s BOSCH Performance CX motor boasts torque of 75 Nm for explosive acceleration. Above 25 km/h, the almost complete absence of friction optimises the speed of downhill racers at Enduro events. The 625 Wh BOSCH PowerTube, built into the frame, boasts a range of up to 140 kilometres. The inclined display screen makes information easier to read and is protected by its location atop the bike frame.
“The lighter-weight frame of the new bike is specific to PEUGEOT Cycles, which developed it with the expertise of the Antidote Solutions design office. Our supplier, ROCKSHOX, developed the high-performance front and rear suspension systems. The 29-inch wheels improve the clearance abilities of the bike, which hugs the ground.” Vincent Ancelin, Team Manager, PEUGEOT Cycles.
The new PEUGEOT electric mountain bike will be available in five versions, launched in early 2020.
LE COQ SPORTIF and LA PLAGNE, partners of PEUGEOT Cycles
PEUGEOT Cycles and LE COQ SPORTIF have signed a major partnership. The famous equipment supplier will provide the jerseys of the riders and staff of Team PEUGEOT Cycles for the 2020 season. The design of the jerseys will feature the iconic chequerboard designs and logos of the brands. For PEUGEOT Cycles fans, a line of stylish lifestyle apparel for leisure or sports activities is currently under review. The two French brands have numerous points in common. Their products are designed in France, they have production centres in Romilly-sur-Seine, and they were founded in 1885 and 1882, respectively.
PEUGEOT Cycles and LA PLAGNE (Savoie, France) have joined forces to promote electric mountain biking at the resort in the summer. The partnership boosts the visibility of PEUGEOT Cycles at the sites of the world’s most visited resort (four million overnight stays a year). Some 20 bikes will be provided to the bike patrols, as well as to the resort’s coordinators, who will use them for events all year round. Here’s looking forward to summer 2020!
PEUGEOT Cycles sent a strong contingent to Roc d’Azur with a team close to its fans, composed of elite cyclists Morgane Jonnier and Nicolas Lau, cyclist Jean-Roch Vecten, and Team Manager Vincent Ancelin. Family-friendly, Roc d’Azur is the world’s leading mountain bike event. Competitions are open to amateurs and professionals alongside a free-entrance fair, which drew 300 exhibitors and 150,000 visitors over five days in 2018. The 35th edition of Roc d’Azur was held on 9 to 13 October 2019 in Fréjus, France.
