At Lyft, inclusion and diversity are at the core of Lyft’s principles, how we make decisions, how we build our teams, and how we serve our communities. Making sustained progress requires clear strategies, metrics that matter, inclusive culture, and leadership that will hold everyone accountable to do their part to retain, hire, develop, and advance talent.
I joined Lyft 10 months ago to lead these efforts. Since then, I’ve quadrupled our I&D team, and we have been hard at work developing a foundation for a new holistic approach to build, embed, and scale our Inclusion and Diversity strategy within all parts of the Lyft business. Today, with the help of many team members who made it happen, we’re releasing our third annual Inclusion and Diversity Report to detail our efforts so far.
This year’s report focuses on 4 key strategic pillars: Workplace, Workforce, Marketplace, and Accountability. These pillars ensure that we’re cultivating an inclusive culture, executing on hiring goals during a sustained period of rapid growth, remaining a trusted brand in our communities, and delivering on our commitments. And while we’ve made both gains and losses in our workforce diversity representation, I remain proud and encouraged by Lyft’s commitment to Inclusion and Diversity. In collaboration with Lyft team members, we are looking forward to executing on our multi-year strategy to continue delivering a positive impact to our riders, drivers, and team members.
