MADRID, Feb. 26 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The BMW automotive company will open and close the vehicle using a smartphone from July this year, as reported by the firm in the context of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona.

BMW Digital Key technology will enable the car to be unlocked or closed again with a mobile phone. Once in the car, the engine can be started with the help of the ‘Wireless Charging Pad’.

In addition, the Digital Key will make it easier for vehicle owners to select up to five people with whom they want to share the car key. When put into service, the Digital Key will be accessible from smartphones through BMW Connected, and initially it will be available for all Samsung models.

The company has also taken advantage of the MWC to show its progress with the autonomous driving of level 5 with a BMW i3, which is called through an ‘app’ and moves to the point where it is “its owner”.
