The Citroen C4 Cactus is ready to renew itself, becoming the first 100% electric of the French brand. Presented in 2014 with innovative solutions and compact crossover features, in 2018 it was deeply updated, getting closer to the compact sedan segment. From next year everything could change, thanks to the arrival of the new Citroen C4 electric Cactus. Waiting for its debut by the end of 2020, the zero-emission novelty was anticipated directly by CEO Linda Jackson.Citroen Electric CactusFirst model without Citroen’s thermal engine, the new electric Cactus will be built on the Psa CMP platform from which models are already born zero emissions like Peugeot e-208, Opel Corsa -is is DS3 Crossback E-Tense. As stated by Jackson to Automotive News Europe, the birth of the new electric model is included in the plan that foresees the presence of electrified versions in each model within the range by 2025. The abundant arrival of hybrid or electric models will not mean goodbye to petrol and diesel engines. If on the design front we are inspired by the Cxperience concept presented in 2016, we still do not have certainty about the exact name of the car. Aided by a decline in popularity with the current Cactus, Citroen’s first electric could only keep the C4 name.

CMP platform, at the heart of the PSA-FC alliance, the modular CMP architecture will play a key role within the new PSA-FCA group. In addition to the already mentioned Peugeot 208, Opel Corsa is DS3 Crossback, the platform will most likely arrive on a long list of Fiat home models starting from the Punto’s heir and the new compact B-segment Alfa Romeo suv. In addition to the great driving pleasure guaranteed, unique to comfort, the CMP ensures full traction electric with (to date) autonomy up to 330 kilometers. These qualities make it the ideal solution for the Italian-American group, now without the latest generation platforms on which to build compact and medium-sized cars and SUVs.● Peugeot 208 electric: everything you need to know● New Opel Corsa, we drove itFrench luxury becomes sustainable with the Ds3 Crossback E-Tense
