Baojun Debuts All-New E300 in Guangxi
2020-01-17
Baojun debuted the all-new E300 electric vehicle on Monday under its new badge as it accelerates its brand transformation.
The E300 inherits Baojun’s new interstellar geometry design language. Its avant-garde split body design and two-tone exterior have a futuristic look that will appeal to younger consumers.
Through its Baojun brand, SAIC-GM-Wuling has established a unique industry chain for electric vehicles in its home of Guangxi. By the end of 2019, more than 97,000 electric vehicles had been sold by the company.
Guangxi’s electric vehicle penetration in 2019 was 6.7%, which was higher than the national average of 4.0%. It has benefited from the installation of nearly 7,000 charging poles across the autonomous region.
In addition to its focus on electrification, Baojun is moving toward intelligent connectivity at full speed. It will upgrade the RS-5 SUV and RC-6 sedan in March with a new connectivity system that will turn the vehicles into intelligent mobility domains. The system will enable Baojun products to serve as platforms to connect to the internet of things. The upgraded RC-6 with the system made its debut on Monday.
Baojun will also continue its investment in and exploration of 5G, L4 autonomous driving and C-V2X (cellular connected vehicle to everything communications). It is committed to rolling out more products with advanced functions to connect new journeys.
