Hyundai Motor Europe HQ is celebrating record annual results for the fifth year in a row, with 563,018 new-car registrations in 2019 according to the latest registration data from the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA).
Hyundai sales figures increased by 3.8% in 2019 compared to the previous year. With wider industry sales up just 1.2%, the company outperformed the overall market trend. Among the main growth territories year-on-year were the results in Germany (+13%) and France (+14%).
The main sales drivers in 2019 included the Tucson, Kona and models of the i-family: the i10, i20 and i30. Hyundai’s future mobility line-up also performed strongly, demonstrating the company’s readiness for growing demand for new powertrain technologies. With the IONIQ range, which is now in its second generation, the Kona Electric and fuel cell-powered NEXO, Hyundai offers a wider range of electrified models than any other manufacturer.
For the fifth time in a row, we’re celebrating another record year for Hyundai in Europe. Once again we outpaced the market, at a time when the automotive industry is volatile and undergoing significant changes. We will continue to listen to our customers and provide the right mix of products and services for their needs, continuing to pursue sustainable growth with a strong tendency towards electric vehicles.

Another key contributor to Hyundai’s success has been the brand’s multiple new product launches in recent years. The company now boasts one of the youngest line-ups in the industry. With a range of product updates due over the next 12 months, Hyundai’s model range will be less than two years old.
By the middle of 2020, over three-quarters of Hyundai’s models will be available in electrified versions. Hyundai Motor Group plans to have launched 44 electrified models by 2025 globally, including 23 battery electric vehicles (BEVs). It will further bolster the development of EV platforms and core components.
In coming years, Hyundai intends to establish itself as one of the top three producers of BEVs globally. With this continued investment in electric vehicles and focus on qualitative growth, the company expects to sustain its position as a leader in future mobility.
