- UK engine manufacturing down -7.2% in 2019 to 2.5 million units.
- Reduced demand from car manufacturing plants and additional shutdowns in April and November affect annual production totals.
- Need for ambitious future trade deal highlighted as more than six in 10 UK-built engines head overseas.

Engine production is a key part of the UK automotive manufacturing ecosystem, employing thousands of people across the country. If we want to remain globally competitive we need an ambitious free trade agreement with our biggest market that will guarantee all automotive products can be bought and sold without tariffs.
