PLANO, Texas (May 20, 2020) – Toyota is conducting a safety recall involving certain 2019 – 2020 Model Year RAV4 and RAV4 Hybrid vehicles in the United States. Approximately 9,500 vehicles are involved in this recall.
The front lower suspension arms, which connect to the front wheels, on the subject vehicles may have been manufactured with improperly produced material. If a vehicle is driven frequently with rapid acceleration and deceleration over its lifetime, an involved front lower suspension arm can eventually separate, resulting in a loss of vehicle control and increasing the risk of a crash.
For all involved vehicles, Toyota dealers will replace both front lower suspension arms with new ones free of charge. Owners of involved vehicles will be notified by mid-July 2020.
