2020-05-22

SHANGHAI – Wuling yesterday launched a new Hong Guang PLUS model. Three new variants of the multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) are priced between RMB 59,800 and RMB 67,800.

The Hong Guang PLUS is Wuling’s largest product, with a length of 4,722 millimeters, width of 1,840 millimeters and height of 1,810 millimeters. This makes it ideal for commercial and family use. Customers can choose from four interior layouts with two, five, seven or eight seats to meet their individual needs.

The new Hong Guang PLUS comes with a 1.5L DVVT naturally aspirated engine matched with a six-speed manual transmission. Its new-generation DVVT technology provides high power at high speeds and high torque at low speeds, with maximum power of 83 kW and maximum torque of 140 Nm. Lightweight piston connecting rod technology and an optimized exhaust system add to the powerful output and improved fuel economy, helping the new Hong Guang PLUS meet the China 6B emission standard.

All new Hong Guang PLUS variants come with the anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), electric power steering (EPS) and the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS). The premium variant adds a driver air bag, rear parking assist and a rear-view camera, for enhanced safety. Cruise control, an 8-inch screen and leather seats give it a premium feel.

The Hong Guang is one of the most popular vehicle nameplates in China, with more than 4.5 million units sold since its introduction.
