São Paulo, June 8, 2020 – 99, a technology company focused on urban mobility, announces two new features in the app aimed at helping to increase the earnings of partner drivers during the period of social isolation, as well as ensuring more convenience for users.
The 99Poupa, an unprecedented category in the country, is an option for trips with more affordable prices for passengers and at times of less demand for partner drivers. 99Entrega allows users to send personal objects to friends, family and colleagues in a simple, safe and fast way, respecting social isolation.
“These launches reinforce our commitment to helping partner drivers maintain their earnings in such an adverse time. We were very careful when designing the new categories, always taking into account the needs of our users, with a focus on safety, convenience and accessibility ”, says Davi Miyake, director of Operations and Product at 99.
99Poupa was created to allow partner drivers a greater offer of races in times of low demand, such as mid-morning and early afternoon. For passengers, prices can be up to 15% lower than in the Pop category. In this way, the driver can increase his earnings by the greater volume of calls by enabling and disabling 99Poupa during periods when he would probably be idle or would run empty, being able to accept whether or not to run without loss. Therefore, the waiting time may be slightly longer for passengers who choose this service.
“In view of the need for safe mobility in cities, in addition to the gradual reopening of some squares, we want to support partner drivers to have higher income and prevent them from ‘hitting cans’, as they themselves say about the times when they are not with passengers” , explains Miyake. “The idea is to generate trips at times with less demand. The greater the number of races, the greater the gains for partner drivers, even with the discount given to passengers ”, adds the executive. The modality is already in operation in the city of Duque de Caxias, in Rio de Janeiro, and will be expanded to the entire state of Rio de Janeiro in the coming weeks.
99Entrega, which allows personal items to be sent, while trying to avoid contact between passenger and driver partner, initially arrives in Goiânia and then in Belo Horizonte, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. The functionality is present in other countries where Didi Chuxing operates, the largest mobility company in the world and owner of 99, such as Chile and Colombia.
“99Entrega has many benefits for us, drivers, for bringing agility, being a practical service that inspires safety. In addition, it increases the flow of calls in the application. This is a solution that adds to us and it is certainly here to stay ”, says Rodrigo Luz, 99 partner driver in Goiânia for two years.
How to use 99Entrega The new category will be available on the app for passengers and partner drivers from 6 am to 11 pm. When requesting the service, the user must send, via the app, the recipient’s name and other delivery instructions. Who orders must deposit belongs directly in the trunk or back seat driver’s partner. That is, the applicant will not need to maintain any physical contact, which guarantees even more security for both.
Among the requirements for items to be shipped are: respect all applicable laws, weight limit of 10kg and fit in the trunk of a 99Pop vehicle. In addition, the object cannot exceed R $ 500.00. The category is enabled for in-app payments, such as credit card or PayPal.
