Jaguar Land Rover has announced it will cut hundreds of jobs at its plants in the West Midlands as it falls to a half a billion pounds loss because of Coronavirus.
The car manufacturer is cutting 1,100 temporary jobs of staff at its factories in Wolverhampton, Solihull and Birmingham – and at Halewood in Liverpool – due to the financial impact of Covid-19.

JLR had put 20,000 staff – half of its workforce – on furlough in April, that figure is understood to be nearer 15,000 now.
It has “gradually resumed” vehicle production at its Solihull plant last month after it was closed due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Its engine manufacturing in Wolverhampton also re-opened on May 18.
Its site at Castle Bromwich will stay shut until August 10.
Both sites are currently working a single shift pattern, with 2,000 employees in Solihull and over 300 staff in Wolverhampton.
