New evidence has also recently surfaced which gives credibility to his conspiracy claim of a malicious plan devised to dethrone him as the CEO of the Renault–Nissan–Mitsubishi Alliance.
Ghosn is currently residing in Lebanon, a country which has no prisoner exchange agreement with Japan.
He holds citizenship to three nations, retaining a Lebanese, Brazilian and French passport. The latter was used to pass the Lebanese border during his escape from a Japanese prison.
