Code-named BH, the first GENESIS sedan marked the beginning of a new luxury brand with the name “GENESIS.” It received rave reviews for its fresh design elements such as sleek profile, large wheels, and extra-wide tail lamps that resembled a bird’s open wings and high build quality. In 2010, BH made a surprise appearance in Christopher Nolan’s hit film .

2nd generation (DH) – Stronger and Safer (2013-2015)

The increased use of Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS) improved driving performance, stability and quietness at the same time.

DH was praised for its sleek yet majestic design building on Hyundai Motor’s ”Fluidic Sculpture” design philosophy but in a more simplified manner. It was also equipped with a number of new advanced features such as HTRAC which enhances vehicle stability on slippery and curved roads and advanced smart cruise control which maintains a safe distance from the vehicle ahead. Vehicle body rigidity was also improved significantly with the use of advanced high-strength steel at 51.5%.
