Shiloh Industries Receives 2019 GM Supplier Quality Excellence Awards
VALLEY CITY, OHIO, June 24, 2020 – Shiloh Industries, Inc. (NASDAQ: SHLO), an environmentally focused global supplier of lightweighting, noise and vibration solutions, has been awarded the 2019 General Motors Supplier Quality Excellence Award at their Valley City, Ohio (Wegman Drive) and Warren, Michigan facilities. The award recognizes top performing suppliers who have demonstrated consistent quality performance throughout the year.
“Receiving GM’s Supplier Quality Excellence Award shows our commitment to GM, and their mission to design, build and sell the world’s best vehicles with the highest levels of quality and safety on the road,” says Rick Cummings, vice president, North America operations. “Receiving this award recognizes the exceptional effort of the Shiloh teams at these locations.”
According to GM, the special award recognition is only given to specific top performing supplier manufacturing locations. Suppliers who receive this award have met or exceeded a very stringent set of quality performance criteria and have achieved the cross-functional support of the entire GM organization.
Wegman Drive has received this prestigious award for six of the past seven years. The facility produces high-precision configured blanks and utilizes advanced aluminum and steel laser welding technologies for products such as door inners, cross-members, rails, exposed body-sides, roof tops and more. These processes can eliminate unnecessary components and assembly operations, and provide significant weight reduction to increase overall vehicle efficiency.
The Warren facility employs the industry’s latest stamping technologies. Using our proprietary ShilohCore product, Shiloh can reduce noise in a wide range of applications, from powertrain applications and deep-draw stampings to smaller components. ShilohCore powertrain applications include: engine and transmission oil pans, engine front end covers, camshaft covers, hydraulic/fuel pump covers and vibration isolation mounts/brackets.
