Toyota (GB) PLC is pleased to announce the appointment of Stuart Sanders as Director, Communications and Product. He takes up the role on 1 January 2021, succeeding Andrew Cullis, who has moved to a new position at Toyota Motor Europe.
Sanders has the distinction of having been a member of the Toyota (GB) team since joining the company in 2001 on a student placement during the final two years of his BA (hons) degree in business management at Nottingham Trent University. Upon graduation, he moved to a full-time role in Toyota Product Marketing in 2003, before joining the internal Toyota Development Programme.
After a series of field-based management roles, Sanders became Manager, Sales and Marketing Programmes, in 2008 and followed this with senior management positions in Product Marketing and Marketing Communications. In 2014 he was promoted to General Manager, Marketing Communications and four years later took up his present role as General Manager, Value Chain.
Commenting on his new directorship, Sanders said: “I am looking forward to leading our Communications and Product teams at what is such an exciting time for our brand as we strengthen our leadership in self-charging hybrid technology and expand our portfolio of electrified products.
“All this is happening as the same time as Toyota transitions to become a mobility company, something we are seeing brought to life through our activities as official mobility partner to the Olympics and Paralympics, and with our Start Your Impossible mobility message.”
Sanders is married with one son and enjoys family life and keeping active through sport. He also follows motorsport and has a keen interest in classic cars.
