MOSCOW, December 30. /TASS/. Honda’s Russian subsidiary, Honda Motor Rus, will stop delivering new cars to Russia during 2022, the company said on Wednesday.
Honda Motor Rus, subsidiary of Honda Motor Co., announced termination of deliveries of new cars to authorized dealers in Russia during 2022, the company said. According to the statement, the decision was made in response to Honda Motor’s automotive business development strategy aimed at restructuring operations amid ongoing changes in the global automotive industry.
According to the website Honda Motor Rus, only two car models are officially sold on the Russian market – crossovers Honda CR-V and Honda Pilot.
At the same time, the company will maintain its presence in the Russian market of motorcycle and power equipment, and will continue to carry out activities related to the after-sales service of cars.
In total, in January – November 2020, Honda sales in the Russian car market, according to the AEB, amounted to 1,400 cars (-15%), in 2019 – 1,800 cars (-64%).
