In the wage conflict in the metal and electrical industry, the IG Metall board of directors decided on Friday evening in an extraordinary meeting in favor of continuing the negotiations in the wage district of North Rhine-Westphalia next week.
Jörg Hofmann, first chairman of IG Metall: “Our colleagues in North Rhine-Westphalia have so far achieved a solid intermediate result. That has only been made possible by the hundreds of thousands of warning strikers in every district. On this basis, the IG Metall executive board calls on those involved in the North Rhine-Westphalia district to continue negotiations on Monday in Düsseldorf. There is no graduation at any price. In terms of pay, in particular, employers still have to make significant improvements.
