Chiron1, Chiron Sport2, Chiron Pur Sport3 and Divo4. Bugatti delivered more vehicles in the first quarter of 2021 than ever before in the first three months of any year in the company’s modern history. The French hyper sports car manufacturer has thus exceeded its self-assigned targets and the figure for the same period in the previous year.
“Every single hyper sports car that we hand over to Bugatti customers is unique and exclusive. Our production will of course also be fully utilized for the next few weeks and months. Therefore, we will continue to deliver numerous Bugatti automobiles to customers of the brand who are eagerly waiting” says Stephan Winkelmann, President of Bugatti. “What I’m also pleased about is that despite the Covid-19 pandemic, we were able to further develop Bugatti’s entire performance spectrum, from the Chiron Super Sport 300+5 to the extremely agile and handling-oriented Chiron Pur Sport, which we have already either delivered to some of our anticipating customers, or will be able to deliver very soon.”
Since the Chiron started being handcrafted in 2017, Bugatti has delivered over 300 vehicles to customers around the world; concrete orders have been placed or are already scheduled for production for a further 150 of the exclusive hyper sports cars in Molsheim, Alsace.
“It fills me with joy and pride that, despite the pandemic, we started the year very well and were able to take more orders than ever before. Even if face-to-face contact is still rare in 2021 and the number of digital meetings have increased, we were able to maintain a relationship and contact with our customers and friends of the brand, ”says Stephan Winkelmann. “So far, we’ve met less often than my team and I and would have liked, but hopefully that will change soon. My thanks go to the entire team for this great performance.”
The French manufacturer still has big plans for the course of the year. The incomparable Centodieci6, a homage to the legendary EB 110, is currently in the final testing stages and will be handcrafted, as is usual for Bugatti, in a small series of ten vehicles at the beginning of 2022. Friends of the brand can look forward to the Chiron Super Sport 300+ optimized for longitudinal dynamics, later this year.
