Ultra-luxury supercar with electric drive
The industrial project of the Americans of Silk EV and the Chinese of FAW, a reality with 130 thousand employees and 3.5 million cars sold in 2019, therefore takes another step forward after the birth of the joint venture last February. A collaboration, as the company points out in a note, created to develop a series of ultra-luxury, electric-powered, high-performance sports vehicles that look to China and global markets.
New oxygen for the Italian supply chain
In a more general perspective, as underlined by the president of Unindustria Reggio Emilia Fabio Storchi, the arrival of Silk-FAW in Emilia Romagna represents the opening of a construction site, “first of all for the automotive production chain that will have to support the investment from the point of view of the supply of essential components for the production of these cars. Our intelligent mechanics plays a role in long international supply chains and is a candidate to work alongside the Group for the construction of the new electric cars ».
The new site, he adds, “will then encourage many of our small and medium-sized enterprises to define new production horizons in the logic of the technological transformation of the automotive sector”.
