- Basecamp™ components add a rugged look to the all-new compact SUV
- Accessories complement the adaptability and adventurous style of the Taos
- Line includes exterior styling enhancements
Herndon, VA — Volkswagen of America, Inc. is pleased to introduce the new accessory line for Taos models. Inspired by the overwhelmingly positive response from the Basecamp accessory line for Atlas, Volkswagen has decided to provide Taos customers with a similar option for the all-new compact SUV.
“The Taos makes a bold first impression,” said Hein Schafer, Senior Vice President of Product Marketing and Strategy at Volkswagen of America. “Our goal is to build on the vehicle’s dynamic exterior design and provide customers with an extensive catalog of accessory options that cater directly to their desires for distinctive styling and functionality.”
The custom body cladding elements available in the Basecamp accessory package create a striking appearance. The exterior styling enhancements, slated for June 2021, include aggressive front and rear fender flares with integrated splash guards, lower door side plates and a front grille Basecamp badge.
The Basecamp accessories create a streamlined, cohesive look that extends from the front grille to the rear of the vehicle. The dealer-installed components are available separately except for the Basecamp badge, which is only available as part of the full package for $999.
In addition to the Basecamp package, there is a full suite of accessories Volkswagen offers for Taos models that bolster convenience and vehicle protection. Rubber MuddyBuddy® and carpeted Monster Mats® help protect the floors, while Bumperdillo® guards the rear bumper against damage during the loading and unloading of cargo. Other options include a frameless, auto dimming rearview mirror equipped with HomeLink Connect®.
