In May 2021, 38,284 LADA passenger cars and light commercial vehicles were sold in Russia, which is almost by 2.5 times higher than the results of May 2020 (16,663 pcs) and by 33% higher than sales of May 2019 (28,739 pcs). A total of 160,123 LADA vehicles were sold January-May 2021, that is by 53% exceeds sales of the same period in 2020.TOP 3 models by sales results in May are: 12,829 vehicles of the LADA Granta family, LADA Vesta sales totaled to 10,050 cars, with LADA Largus in third place with 6,357 cars (combined sales of passenger station wagons and LCVs).”In the 1st quarter of 2021 state programs to support demand in the automotive market, introduced at the initiative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, have shown their high efficiency and provided start of the market recovery. In this context attractive LADA model range and successful start of the new Largus and the Niva Travel sales created growing demand for our cars. To meet it, the Company plans to hire additionally over 1,500 employees at the AVTOVAZ production site in Togliatti by September 2021,” said Nicolas Maure, President of JSC AVTOVAZ.
