@Groupe PSA: PR WITH Ë-JUMPY HYDROGEN, CITROËN OFFERS THE WIDEST ELECTRIFIED RANGE TO MEET THE NEW NEEDS OF PROFESSIONALS001863

Combining batteries with a hydrogen fuel cell, Citroën ë-Jumpy Hydrogen provides greater range in electric mode with no compromises on the vehicle’s abilities.
With a range of more than 400 km and hydrogen refuelling in less than three minutes, Citroën ë-Jumpy Hydrogen is the forerunner of tomorrow’s electric light commercial vehicle.
Citroën’s entire light commercial vehicle (LCV) range will be electrified by 2021, with ë-Jumpy already on the road and My Ami Cargo, ë-Berlingo Van, ë-Jumpy Hydrogen and ë-Jumper due to arrive in the second half of the year.
Citroën is thus demonstrating its ability to offer modern, technological and affordable solutions to meet the many uses and mobility needs of customers. More than ever, Citroën stands as the right solution for professionals.

“ë-Jumpy Hydrogen rounds out our range of light commercial vehicles. With its architecture combining a hydrogen fuel cell and a battery, our van boasts the best of both technologies. The components were integrated according to an ingenious design such that their size has no impact on load capacity, a crucial factor for professionals in this segment. ë-Jumpy Hydrogen responds to the needs and uses of professionals with a range of over 400 km, the reduced impact of outside temperature on range, a charging time of just three minutes, and the ability to recover more energy during deceleration.” – Laurence Hansen – Citroën Product and Strategy Director

INNOVATING FOR PROFESSIONALS

Since 1928, Citroën has constantly innovated to adapt to changes in society and bring professionals greater peace of mind and ease of use in their daily work. In response to new environmental and social challenges, Citroën in 2021 is implementing new energies with ë-Jumpy Hydrogen and new concepts with My Ami Cargo, and thus forming the most complete electric range on the market.

NEW ENERGIES: CITROËN JUMPY GOES HYDROGEN
Citroën is supplementing its range of electric LCVs with hydrogen technology to meet the needs of 8% of companies required to make journeys of more than 300 km or lacking the time to recharge their vehicle during the day. The Brand’s range will therefore meet all the needs in the segment.

ë-Jumpy Hydrogen, an electric van with a fuel cell and rechargeable batteries, is the first Citroën powered by this form of energy. While accommodating this new technology, it retains its useful volume and load capacity. The practical new model has a range of over 400 km* and its three 700 bar carbon-fibre hydrogen tanks, which sit next to the battery under the front seats, can be filled in just three minutes. With zero CO2 emissions, self-employed professionals and tradespeople will be able to continue to use roads in regulated urban areas in complete freedom.
*Range determined according to the methodology of the WLTP test procedure (R (EC) No. 715/2007, R (EU) No. 2017/1151)

ë-Jumpy Hydrogen is fully electric and benefits from two energy sources: a 45 kW fuel cell that produces electricity by consuming hydrogen stored in a three-cylinder tank at a pressure of 700 bars, and a 10.5 kWh battery that acts as a 50 km reserve and takes over automatically when the hydrogen tank is empty. The hydrogen fuel cell ensures the vehicle’s range, the battery being required in transition phases such as strong acceleration and gradients calling for extra power. These two sources of energy combine to fuel the motor and power the drive train. The battery, which recovers energy during deceleration, is automatically charged using electricity generated by the hydrogen fuel cell to ensure a sufficient charge level. It can also be charged using a cable at electric-vehicle charging stations.

Jumpy, produced at our SevelNord plant, will be converted at the Stellantis Group’s hydrogen fuel cell research and development centre in Russelsheim, Germany.
Available in two sizes, M (4.95 m) and XL (5.30 m), the first deliveries of ë-Jumpy Hydrogen to fleet customers are scheduled for autumn 2021.

« Citroën started a wide offensive in the field of Light Commercial Vehicles, proposing a full electrified range in 2021 on the European market, which is up to 26% compared to 2020. But Citroën doesn’t stp there. Faithful to its will to be inspired by professionals and their usages, its full electric battery van offer is joined by the hydrogen version of Citroën ë-Jumpy. This new technology will suit customers who regularly drive long distance or need faster recharging. Citroën thus proposes to professionals a varied electric LCV offer that allows them to ensure their activity in a sustainable wayd’assurer, in line with their usages and also with environmental issues and the growth of urban access limitations. »

MY AMI CARGO: THE CHAMPION IN LAST-MILE DELIVERIES
In response to urban travel restrictions, the need for a zero-emission solution and substantial growth in micro-mobility needs, particularly for deliveries, Citroën has developed My Ami Cargo, an LCV version of Ami set for launch in mid-June. My Ami Cargo is an electric, agile, practical and economical solution that is broadly accessible in terms of permits and price. It provides professionals with peace of mind in the organisation of their work with an unprecedented offer.

In addition to delivery professionals, My Ami Cargo is an ideal companion for local service companies including self-employed professionals, home hairdressers and personal caregivers, and liberal professions such as nurses. It is also perfect for administrations, local authorities and organisations, as well as leisure or tourist facilities and industrial sites where employees make multiple intra- and inter-site trips to transport documents and tools or carry out work.

The interior layout of My Ami Cargo offers a total useful volume of over 400 litres. A 260-litre modular storage structure has been integrated in place of the passenger seat to accommodate 140 kg of payload and is designed to facilitate loading and unloading. The top shelf is multi-functional: it can be used as a lid, can support a weight of 40 kg and can be used as a mobile office. The floor also adjusts to provide more than 1.20 m of useful length.

My Ami Cargo is a key source of savings for entrepreneurs seeking to control their budget. Energy consumption is on average less than €2 per 100 km, i.e. about four times less than a small city car, and maintenance costs are 30% lower. The offers are varied and attractive, with a cash purchase from €6,490 VAT included (€900 ecological bonus deducted) or a long-term lease from €24.18 VAT included (down-payment of €2,508 VAT included, €900 ecological bonus deducted, 48-month lease). This monthly payment, which includes the cost of the battery, can be adjusted according to the customer’s budget.

Lastly, entrepreneurs can customise the exterior of My Ami Cargo to display their company colours, using stickers available on request via the special online sales site or choosing from a wide range of accessories.

THE MOST COMPLETE RANGE ON THE MARKET, FULLY ELECTRIC FROM 2021

The European electric vehicle market is growing rapidly, having increased 132% in 2020 compared with 2019. Nearly one vehicle in ten sold in 2020 was electric. And the market is expected to grow by a further 53% in 2021,
with over two million registrations and considerable growth in the electric LCV market (+127%), in which Citroën intends to be a major player. The Brand’s objective for 2025 is to achieve an over 25% share of electric models.

Looking beyond the commitment to reduce the carbon footprint of our ranges, Citroën’s electric LCVs are essential for professionals whose activities frequently take them into increasingly regulated city centres for deliveries or to work on building sites. Electrification also makes it possible to modify company fleets with a view to environmental and economic optimisation. In an example of reduced cost in use, ë-Berlingo Van consumes an average 18 kWh of electricity per 100 km, equivalent to €3, while maintenance costs are an average 30% lower than for the internal-combustion version. In addition, electrification provides employees with the additional comfort of a smooth and silent drive that contributes to their well-being at work, while preserving the proven LCV performances of ë-Berlingo Van, ë-Jumpy and ë-Jumper for optimal productivity.

In 2019, Citroën announced the electrification of its entire compact van range from 2021. The brand has fully honoured this promise, with ë-Jumpy available to order since September 2020. The range will be expanded in the second half of 2021 with the first deliveries of ë-Berlingo Van, ë-Jumper, ë-Jumpy Hydrogen and, naturally, My Ami Cargo, which charts new territory in the micro-mobility market. Citroën offers the most comprehensive range to provide a bespoke solution for each professional.
