World NM: Hyundai union votes to accept wage deal, won’t strike001413

The trade union of South Korean automaker Hyundai Motor said its members have accepted a pay deal and will not go on strike.
Since its formation in 1987, the union has staged strikes every year up to 2008, except in 1994.
Originally, the union had threatened to go on strike, requesting 30 percent of Hyundai’s profits as a bonus and asking to extend the retirement age from 60 to 64.
