Car production is reportedly on pause at VDL Nedcar due to a shortage of chips.
The vehicle manufacturer, which makes cars for BMW and a MINI model and intends to start making electric cars next year, has been affected by a global shortage of components, according to De Limburger.
The paper reports that production will not recommence after the three-week holiday on Monday as planned, due to a shortage of computer chips vital for modern driving technology.
DutchNews.nl has contacted VDL Nedcar for a comment.
