World NM: Toyota plots green transport revolution in Derby001555

The programme is hoped to eventually encompass everything from driverless buses to scooters to autonomous cars
Initially targeting this year’s intake of 10,000 students at Derby University and College, it is hoped that the company’s programme will eventually encompass everything from bicycles and scooters to autonomous cars.
The test is being funded from the Government’s “Future Transport Zone” scheme and is the largest venture of its kind that Toyota has been involved in, as the company tries to move away from being solely a manufacturer of vehicles.
