TOKYO, Japan, February 18, 2022 — Honda Motor Co., Ltd. today announced organizational changes the company will make, effective April 1, 2022, to transform itself into a mobility company focused on services and solutions that can achieve new growth and new value creation, striving to fulfill its goal to “serve people worldwide with the joy of expanding their life’s potential” in the areas of mobility and people’s daily lives.

- Creation of new organization to strengthen new value creation by combining hardware with software and services.

- Strengthening of operational structure through consolidation of existing business areas.
<Specific organizational changes>
・ Creation of Business Development Operations
– Strengthening of functions for the development of electrification business, new business, and combined solution business.
– Strengthening of functions for the development of software.
– Strengthening of functions for the development of core electrification technologies.
・ Changes in organizational structure of automobile, motorcycle and power products businesses
– Optimization of global resource allocation under the leadership of business operations, through the creation of Business Operating Boards (BOB).
[Automobile Operations]
• Establishment of a structure for smooth collaboration with the new Business Development Operations
• Acceleration of the reform of Honda Monozukuri (art of making things) through strengthening of production engineering, quality and supply chain.
[Motorcycle and Power Products Operations]
• Strengthening of the business structure and improvement of the efficiency of both operations through the consolidation of two operational structures.
• Advancement of Monozukuri (the art of making things) through integration of the current Monozukuri Center (of Motorcycle Operations) with the production planning and purchase planning divisions and production facilities of both operations.
・ Advancement of regional operations
– Execution of globally optimized strategies through collaboration with Business Operating Boards (BOB).
– Consolidation of Regional Operations (Europe) and the Regional Unit (Africa and the Middle East).
