MADRID, 10 Apr (EUROPA PRESS) –

An electric car, on average, starts to be profitable “with a minimum of 15,000 kilometers per year”, according to the ‘IV Online Comparison Study for Smart Savings’ carried out by the ‘online’ comparator Rastreator.com, which shows that 43% of the population is reluctant to buy an alternative car.

As can be seen from the report, electric cars are a “real and profitable alternative for certain uses”. At the economic level, on average, an electric car starts to be profitable “with a minimum of 15,000 kilometers per year”, something “difficult” since the “majority” use of this type of vehicle is usually urban.

However, Rastreator.com ensures that every time there are more drivers who use the car to travel to work in another location, more or less nearby, “being able to do 30 kilometers a day on average”.

According to Rastreator.com, the price of electric cars can be between 5,000 euros and 13,000 euros more expensive, but traveling 100 kilometers with an electric car would cost 1.20 euros if it is recharged at night, while the cost in fuel would be of “about five or six euros”.

In addition, according to data from Audatex, the maintenance of a gasoline car is 56% more expensive than that of an electric car, since an alternative vehicle needs 60% less parts than one of fuel.

For its part, 57% of Spaniards would consider buying a hybrid or electric vehicle. However, 22.2% of the interviewees think that the high price is the main reason for not buying this type of vehicle.

In addition, 14.8% of respondents believe that infrastructure and recharging points are insufficient, while 6% of Spaniards believe that these cars do not have the autonomy they need.

“It is necessary to improve the infrastructure and the benefits of electric cars while remaining accessible to drivers, to ensure that more and more consumers are committed to this type of vehicle,” said the director of Business Development of Rastreator.com, Álvaro Bas, who has ensured that every time citizens are more aware of the need to bet on cars more respectful of the environment.
