Net braking in March for the second-hand market, both in the car and motorcycle sectors. The changes in ownership of the four wheels net of mini-revolutions (temporary transfers in the name of the concessionaire pending resale to the end customer) in March recorded a negative change of 9.4% compared to the same month of 2021, while the two second-hand wheels closed the monthly balance down by 8%, again net of mini-rounds.

For every 100 new cars, 198 used cars were sold in March and 207 in the first quarter of the year, once again outclassing the data relating to the first registrations.

As far as fueling is concerned, the new petrol hybrid cars with a share of 33.2% of the market for first registrations, albeit with a monthly decrease of 3.9%, are always confirmed in first place, surpassing car sales. diesel (20.5% incidence) and petrol (28% incidence), both down sharply compared to March 2021 (-40.3% and -38.1% respectively). Significant decline of 34.5% for the first registrations of electric cars, which in March recorded a market share of 3.7%. Finally, the first registrations of diesel hybrids fell by 17.7%, with a market share of 4.4%. On the second-hand market, on the other hand, the sales of diesel and petrol cars continue to prevail in March, while the share of petrol-fueled hybrids is around 3.2%. Diesel cars also clearly excel in mini-cultivations (52.6% incidence, in any case down compared to 57.1% in March 2021), where the share of petrol-driven hybrids reached 3.9% in March.

In the first three months of 2022 compared to the same period of 2021 there is a generalized decline in net transfers of ownership: -8.5% for cars, -3% for motorcycles and -7.1% for all vehicles in their complex.

The data are reported in the latest monthly bulletin “Auto-Trend”, the statistical analysis carried out by the Automobile Club of Italy on the PRA data, available on the website www.aci.it.

In March, the monthly toll of car radiations was in deep red (-38.5% compared to March 2021), marked by a striking decrease in demolitions (-42). The unit replacement rate was 0.77 in March (77 for every 100 new cars) and 0.87 in the entire first quarter of 2022, resulting in a new growth in the national fleet. Radiation from motorcycles was also negative, with a monthly loss of 7.5%.

In the period January-March 2022, compared to the same period in 2021, decreases of 29% for cars and 26.6% for all vehicles were reported, compared with a slight increase of 0.6% for motorcycles.
