ACI: Statistical Yearbook 2022, all the numbers of the automotive sector

26.04.2022

First registrations, fleet, age, expenditure and tax revenue

With + 10.1% of first vehicle registrations and + 5.4% of passenger cars (1,520,000 units, compared to 1,440,000 in 2020), the 2021 car market shows a slight recovery, after the crisis in which it was precipitated due to COVID19 reaching, in 2020, the lowest level in the last 20 years. Levels still very far away, both from the years of greatest development in the sector – when the first registrations to the PRA exceeded 2 million units – and compared to the three-year period 2017-19, when approximately 1,900,000 registrations / year are observed.

These are the main information obtained from the ACI Statistical Yearbook 2022, available from today on www.aci.it/laci/studi-e-ricerche/dati-e-statistiche.html.
