ST. PETERSBURG, June 16. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the Cabinet to approve an updated strategy for the development of the domestic auto industry by September 1.
“It should be done before September 1, I ask the government to draw up and approve an updated strategy for the development of the automotive industry, taking into account today’s realities,” Putin said, summing up the results of a meeting on the development of the automotive industry on Thursday.
According to the head of state, “its [strategy’s] key element should be Russia’s own critical technologies and industries, and their level should ensure the global competitiveness of the industry as a whole.”
Putin demanded that all decisions on the development of the domestic automotive industry be carried out without red tape.
“All decisions that we make must be implemented as quickly as possible, without unnecessary bureaucratic delays,” the head of state said.
The head of state promised that a package of decisions would be prepared based on the results of the current meeting. “I hope for its efficient, fast implementation,” he said.
