- Schaeffler’s entire robotics product range will be on display for the first time at automatica 2022
- New: Drive components for the seventh traversing axis of industrial robots
- Precision planetary gear units available as an option with drive pinion for rack and pinion drives
Within just a few years, the automotive and industrial supplier Schaeffler has built up one of the most extensive portfolios for industrial robotics. Both current innovations and robotics components from the standard program will be exhibited in full at automatica 2022 in Hall B6, at Booth 111, including a PCB motor series for lightweight robots and cobots, two precision strain wave gear series, a torque sensor system which is fully integrated into the strain wave gears, and, of course, bearing solutions for swivel joints and gearboxes. Also new to the product range are innovative precision planetary gear units of series PSC, for industrial robots with payloads of up to around 100 kg, which are also available with the option of a fitted drive pinion for rack and pinion drives.
Modular system for the seventh axis of industrial robots
While Schaeffler already offers range extenders as a fully customized seventh axis for lightweight robots and cobots, a corresponding solution for industrial robots has previously been unavailable. In practice, designs of these linear axes are predominantly customized. With this in mind, Schaeffler is offering a modular system composed of all the necessary drive components, such as linear guidance systems in the form of linear recirculating ball or linear recirculating roller bearing and guideway assemblies with extensive accessories, the optional addition of Schaeffler DuraSense for the purposes of condition monitoring, or automatic, requirement-based minimal lubrication. The range for the seventh axis is complemented by components and systems from the Lifetime Solutions range, including automatic lubricators from the Concept series, suitable lubrication gears for reliable lubrication of the toothed rack, and the new intelligent lubricator OPTIME C1.
Schaeffler Special Machinery will also be presenting its customizable production concepts for the first time at automatica, where solutions for future production will be on display at Booth 307 in Hall A5.
