Patti Payne: Scott Oki’s haikus raise money and lift spirits

It was an extraordinary collection of haikus entitled “Nirvana” by philanthropist and retired Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) pioneer Scott Oki. Years ago he got the notion to try writing Japanese haikus, a short poetic form. “I remember my first grade teacher there, Claire Suguro, taught us how to write haikus,” he says.
