AVTOVAZ: Main Events of 2018
In 2018, AVTOVAZ confidently continued implementing the Mid-Term Development Plan. The Company reinforced the product offensive, strengthened its position as automotive brand No. 1 in Russia – LADA – and expanded its presence in export markets. Thanks to the support of the Shareholders, Federal and Regional Authorities, AVTOVAZ Group demonstrated steady positive operating margin and profitability.
LADA New Products
The sales of LADA Vesta Cross sedan started in June 2018. It is the first car in its segment that combines the ground clearance of crossover (203 mm), excitable handling, spacious interior and one of the most popular body types in Russia – sedan.
August 2018 is notable for the start of sales of the new LADA Granta Family — sedan, hatchback, station wagon and liftback. LADA Granta, distinguished by its modern style and improved level of comfort and safety, has been and remains one of the most affordable vehicle models in the Russian market.
In November, the sales of LADA XRAY Cross started. The model is distinctive in SUV inherent attributes both in terms of design and in terms of the technical content. The car has a rich set of new equipment, a high level of comfort and off-road performance: the car’s ground clearance has reached 215 mm, a record for LADA; it’s got the intelligent LADA Ride Select system enabling the driving modes for various road conditions.
At the main automotive event of the country – the Moscow International Automobile Salon – LADA presented 4 new models and the vision of the brand’s development and design concept. LADA stand showed 6 premieres, which is a record in the Brand’s history. LADA 4×4 VISION concept car, recognized as the best exhibit at the Moscow International Automobile Salon, demonstrated the vision of the development of the Company’s style DNA.
Brand and Company Awards
LADA was awarded in 4 categories in the annual national award the “Car of the Year in Russia”. More than 1 million people took part in voting. LADA Vesta and LADA Vesta SW became the winners in the category “Small class”. LADA Vesta SW Cross got the title the “Car of the Year in Russia” in the category “Cross-country station wagons”. LADA Largus Van was awarded in the category “Mini-vans” for the 6th time already. LADA brand was awarded in the special category “Favorite brand in the mass segment”.
LADA Vesta SW Cross won the prestigious automotive award – Grand Prix “Za Rulem -2018”. The car was awarded in the category “Compact Crossovers”. LADA Vesta SW and LADA Vesta SW Cross were also awarded in the special category “Breaking stereotypes”.
The annual national award “TOP-5 Auto” by the automotive business experts: LADA Vesta SW and LADA Vesta SW Cross were recognized as the best in the category “Compact city car”. LADA PR-function was awarded in the category “The best PR department of the car maker”; it is a special award for competence and efficient communication.
LADA Vesta SW Cross received the RAF-2018 Russian Automobile Forum Award – the model was awarded in the “Best Debut of 2017”.
AVTOVAZ was awarded by “Kommersant of the Year” in the category “Industry” (according to the Kommersant Volga edition). The award, one of the most reputable and largest in the country’s business community, is given to the companies for their strong contribution to the development of Russian business.
Brand and Company Development
In 2018, LADA developed a new corporate philosophy; for the first time in the last few years it’s got a single Brand slogan. Energetic design, best quality and equipment at an affordable price, confidence in all situations – these are the three basic principles of the new LADA philosophy. The Brand’s new motto: “LADA. New Horizons”. The slogan emphasizes a full renewal of the model lineup, access to new niches, transformation of the dealer network, advanced standards in engineering and production of cars.
AVTOVAZ, together with “Immoshan” Company and the Togliatti Road Police, opened the largest car playground for the children in Russia – LADlandia to teach the traffic rules. Now children and schoolchildren of Togliatti will be able to study traffic safety rule while driving a car bike in a mini-city.
The Company has started implementing the Labor Conditions Improvement Program 2018-2020 to improve the working conditions for the Company’s employees. The total amount of funding within the Program is 3.178 billion rubles, of which more than 900 million rubles have been allocated already in 2018. The Program is developed on the basis of 100% survey of the Company’s employees and includes 588 actions aimed at improving the comfort and safety for the AVTOVAZ personnel.
The corporate development of AVTOVAZ Group is aimed at preparing further renewal of the model range: by 2026, the Company plans to launch 8 new models and 9 facelifts. In order to reinforce its scientific and technical potential the Company recruits the engineers: about 400 people, including young specialists and graduates of higher educational institutions who were hired to R&D Center. AVTOVAZ managers were meeting with the students of the largest universities in the Volga region, the Company became the general partner of the youth forum iVolga, thus creating the basis for the implementation of long-term plans for LADA.

Financial performance of AVTOVAZ Group maintains its positive trend in Q3 2018
AVTOVAZ Group (AVG) announces its IFRS results for the 9 months 2018. The Company succeeded to keep its LADA market share in Russia at a record high level of 20% Termination of the state market support measures in May 2018, slower dynamics of the Russian automotive market growth and FX rate fluctuations represent growing headwinds for the financial performance of AVG.
For the first 9 months of 2018 AVG sold in the Russian market 259,129 units of the LADA cars that is 17% more vs the same period of 2017. The LADA brand kept the highest share of the Russian passenger car and light commercial vehicles market in the last several years– 20% (+0.4 pp to 9m 2017).
The LADA Vesta model family sets a new sales record with 76,189 units sold during the first 9 months of 2018 (+39.5% to 9M 2017). The New LADA Granta, launched in September, 2018, was warmly welcomed by clients and became the September market best-seller in Russia with 9,936 units sold.
Four LADA models occupied the TOP-10 list of best-sellers in Russia – the LADA Vesta (1st position), the LADA Granta (3rd position), and the LADA Largus (7th position), the LADA XRAY (9th position).
During the 9 months of 2018 AVG has exported 27,398 units of the LADA cars and KD kits (+65% to 9M 2017). Two new countries were added to export geography in 2018 – Tunisia and Chile. 9 new LADA dealerships were opened abroad.
LADA sales success in the domestic market, growing export volumes and ongoing cost optimization activities provided continuous positive trends for AVG financial results. The Company achieved a consolidated revenue of 198.7 B-RUB, that is 25.4% more than in the previous year. The 9M 2018 operating margin benefited positively from significant one-off events in excess of 5.5 B-RUB, bringing it to a positive value of 12.1 B-RUB. Net result for the same period amounted to 5.4 B-RUB comparing to -4,5 B-RUB loss in 2017.
President of PJSC AVTOVAZ Yves Caracatzanis noted that the results are in line with AVG ambitious mid-term plan. ”I’m thankful to every employee of AVTOVAZ for input into the ongoing recovery. We continue to execute strictly our action plan on cost reduction, brand, line-up renewal. At the same time, we underline persisting macro-economic risks, such as ruble depreciation, raw materials price increase, continuing market growth slow-down, that may influence Q4 sales results. Our forecast for the full year 2018 remains with a positive operating margin” – stated Mr. Caracatzanis.

AVTOVAZ group announces new appointments effective from November 1st, 2018:
›Mikhail Ryabov, General Director of ''LADA Izhevsk automobile plant'', is appointed Vice-President of PJSC ''AVTOVAZ'' for the car production.
›Nikolay Strokov, Vice-President for the car production of PJSC AVTOVAZ, is appointed to the position of Vice-President of PJSC AVTOVAZ for the production of automotive components.
›Denis Nosov, Director of production of plastic products (PPI) of PJSC AVTOVAZ in Togliatti, is appointed General Director of “LADA Izhevsk automobile plant”.
›Sergey Uryupin, Vice-President of PJSC AVTOVAZ for the production of automotive components, is leaving the company, and will develop his career at one of the companies of the Russian automotive industry in a senior position.
The President of PJSC AVTOVAZ Yves Caracatzanis noted that the new appointments are a common practice in the automotive industry. ''Transition of managers and new challenges provide professional and personal growth for every of them. LADA XRAY Cross – start of sales
On November, 3, 2018 the crossover LADA XRAY Cross will go on sale in all LADA dealerships.
LADA XRAY Cross is a new model in the LADA XRAY family. The car is created to give freedom to make new discoveries. It provides the opportunity to challenge the unexpected adventures. A positive changes’ reflection, being made in the model range and in the LADA brand at large, caused the need to update the style of communications. That’s why the sales start of the symbolic for the Brand car LADA XRAY Cross is accompanied with the new tonality and the slogan launch: “LADA. New horizons”.
The serial LADA XRAY Cross was showcased at the MIAS-2018. The car is built with clear SUV attributes, from design to technics, in order to offer not only trendy look and good handling, but also high Cross Over abilities.Special status and off-road capabilities of LADA XRAY Cross are underlined with its design. The developed plastic kit not only protects the body enamel, but also makes a brutal and dynamic design. The car’s ground clearance reached a record for LADA 215 mm. The extended wheel track and specially developed 17-inch wheels with Continental tires also contributed to the brutal and confident car style. Special setting of the power unit and of ESC are developed for LADA XRAY. Special selector LADA Ride Select on the instrumental panel allows to activate operating mode of chassis to overcome snow, sand and mud, as well as sports mode for safe and dynamic driving. The special attention by the LADA XRAY Cross development was paid to the ergonomics. The crossover is featured heated steering wheel, reach adjustable steering wheel, front seats with lateral support. The fold back of the front passenger seat and the rear seat back form a flat surface to increase the functionality.
LADA XRAY Cross is produced in three trim levels – Classic, Comfort and Luxe, for which two option packages are available. The initial price of LADA XRAY Cross in the trim level Classic begins from 729 900 rubles.
Effective November, 3, the presentations of LADA XRAY Cross will be organized in LADA dealerships all over Russia, the information may be obtained by the dealer in your region.

LADA – LADA Vesta is the sales leader in October
It was sold 291 134 PCs and LCVs of LADA brand within 10 months of 2018 that is by 16,5% more vs the same period of last year. October became the record month of 2018, it was sold 32 005 LADA cars (+11,8% vs October of last year).
According to preliminary company’s estimate, LADA’s market share made 19,9% by results of 10 months of 2018 that exceeds the figure for the same period of 2017.
Cars of LADA Vesta family became the most popular Brand’s model. 10 668 cars have been purchased that is the best figure of 2018 and this is by 60,9% more vs the same period of last year. Moreover, LADA Vesta remains the absolute Brand’s leader both in terms of sales and growth: it was sold 86 857 cars for 10 months (+41,8% vs result of last year).
A new LADA Granta family occupies the second position. It was sold 9 537 cars in October, 2018.
LADA Largus is traditionally popular. 3 669 passenger station wagons (+39,9% vs October, 2017) and 891 Largus vans (+23,9% vs October, 2017) were sold in October, 2018.

LADA expends the presence on the market of Uzbekistan
LADA continues to strengthen its presence on the market of Kazakhstan. The show room LADA Sergeli, that is the 12th LADA dealer in Uzbekistan, was opened in Tashkent after rebranding. Dealership fully meets all the modern requirements of visual identification of the Brand. Show room with a 600 sq m area accommodates 8 cars, and the service area is designed for several service posts and spare parts storage. Strict LADA standards compliance allows to establish a strong dealership and to simultaneously form the positive image of the Brand.
The show room opening was accompanied with the official premiere of the new LADA Granta family and the LADA Vesta Cross sedan in Uzbekistan. Thus, today a full range of LADA models is represented in the country. Any model can be purchased under the trade-in program, which provides an additional benefit of 2 million Uzbek soms (equivalent to 20 000 rubles).
It is to recap that currently Uzbekistan is one of the most actively developing areas of LADA export sales. 2128 cars have found their owners within 10 months of 2018, while the leading position is occupied by cars of the LADA Vesta family that take more than 30% of sales.

LADA XRAY – new model year
LADA announces the sales start of LADA XRAY of 2019 model year. The model in the basic trim level became more affordable by 40 K rubles and the initial price makes now 589 900 rubles.
LADA XRAY of 2019 MY is distinguished with increased comfort level. The compartment length is increased by 25 mm that provided additional space for rear passengers.
The car is represented in 4 trim levels with choice of options packages and with three powertrains.
LADA XRAY in the basic trim level Standard (from 589 900 rubles) is equipped with 1,6 l engine and MT and features two front air bags, ERA-GLONASS system, ESC with anti-slip control and hillstart assist system, on-board computer, power windows of front doors, central lock and alarm system with remote control, heat-absorbing glasses, body-colored exterior mirrors with turn signals, 15-inch stamped wheels.
The price of the LADA XRAY in the trim level Classic with 1,6 l and MT makes 629 900 rubles. This trim level is equipped in addition to the trim level Standard with driver’s seat height control and passenger’s air bag with tripping function. The package Air Conditioner (conditioner + cooled glove box) is provided for this trim level, the car price in this trim level begins from 654 900 rubles.
The price of the car with 1,6 l engine and MT in the trim level Comfort starts from 687 900 rubles. The 1,8 l engine (122hp) with MT or AT is available starting this version. The price of LADA XRAY with 1,8l MT in the trim level Comfort begins from 712 900 rubles, the price of the car in the same trim level with AT is by 25 K rubles more. The car is equipped with multifunctional steering wheel, conditioner, cooled glove box, front seats heating, powered and heated exterior windows, rear power windows.
LADA XRAY in the trim level Luxe features MT and one of the engine variants: the price of the car with 1,6 l engine begins from 743 900 rubles and with 1,8 l engine – from 768 900 rubles. The trim level features windshield heating, rear parktronic, light and rain sensors, combined lining of seats (fabric + eco-leather), 16-inch alloy wheels. The most equipped version of the LADA XRAY – Luxe with Prestige package – includes cruise-control and speed limiter (only for versions with 1,8 l engine), rear view camera, multimedia with navigator, tinted rear glasses. The car is equipped with one of three power trains, the price starts from 772 900 rubles.
It is to recap that by results of 10 months of 2018 LADA XRAY enters the TOP-10 list of models-leaders of the Russian market, 29 006 cars of this family were sold for this period that is by 7,2% more vs last year.
