Car sales down 1.25%; passenger vehicles up 7.57% in Jan

India car sales in January 2018 up; Maruti, Hyundai, Mahindra lead the way
Major car manufacturers in the Indian auto industry have announced their sales figures for the first month (January) of 2018. While a few of the carmakers have seen a drop in their numbers, the overall results are quite positive as compared to the corresponding month of the last year.
Hyundai sales up 8.5 pc in January at 56,216 units
Hyundai Motor India (HMIL) today reported an 8.5 per cent increase in total sales at 56,216 units in January. The company had sold 51,834 units in January last year, HMIL said in a statement. Domestic sales rose by 8.3 per cent to 45,508 units last month as compared to 42,017 units in January 2017.
