The Volkswagen subsidiary Audi wants to halve factory costs in the coming years. “Having production costs in half means halving the hours per vehicle,” said Audi Board Member for Production Gerd Walker in Ingolstadt. In addition, the two large German Audi plants in Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm will primarily produce electric cars from 2026 and 2027. “We need radical steps for that,” Walker said.
