Sales of electrified vehicles continue to grow at a constant and positive rate in Spain, as highlighted by ANFAC, but both their rate of entry and the volume of sales with respect to the total market are still very low. The association emphasizes the need to accelerate its sales and, in this way, meet the requirements set out in the PNIEC, with a park of three million electrified passenger cars in 2030, and which will increase their demand once the Fit is approved. for 55 in Europe. With a total of 43,828 units up to the month of July, it is difficult to achieve the goal of 120,000 electrified passenger car units set for this year.

José López-Tafall, general director of ANFAC, pointed out that “sales of electrified vehicles continue to progress, showing that they are an increasingly present option for users. However, they still only represent one in 10 purchases, which indicates that they are not a priority option. Accelerating its entry into the market and making it the first purchase option is very necessary if we want to achieve the new and more demanding emissions reduction targets set by Europe and backed by the Spanish government. To date, the rate of entry is very slow, which is going to make it difficult to achieve the goal set this year of 120,000 units. From ANFAC we insist that a framework must be generated that makes electrification an attractive, safe and accessible option for the user. For this reason, a set of urgent measures must be implemented, such as those proposed by ANFAC, to accelerate the development of recharging infrastructures, establish an incentive fiscal framework and, in the same way, speed up the procedures for the management of demand plans. installation of charging points. Greater objectives require greater measures, with the current ones it is no longer valid”.
