Ashok Leyland, which is implementing a speedy new product launch programme in the past couple of months, has launched its AVTR 4825 tipper powered by its 250hp H-series 4V 6-cylinder engine.
The modular AVTR truck platform offers a comprehensive truck range from 19T to 55T GVW.
On July 25, the CV maker expanded its AVTR range with the launch of the AVTR 4220 with 41.5T GCW and AVTR 4420 with 43.5T GCW in the 4×2 tractor segment. On August 6, the Chennai-based CV maker had announced plans to strengthen its AVTR portfolio by introducing a new 250hp, 6-cylinder, 4-valve engine with premium N Cabin in the haulage, tractor and tipper segments.
The AVTR 4825 tippers come with multiple cabin and tipper load body options designed to handle specific customer operations. As per the company, the 250hp H-series 4V 6-cylinder engine is supplement with in-house-developed i-Gen6 technology which “enhances engine performance and durability while ensuring overall lower cost of ownership when compared to competition. The excellent drivability, ride comfort, reliability and faster turnaround time on rough terrains ensures more loads at faster speed on continuous long hauls. This leads to higher productivity, better operating economy and fleet optimisation.”
According to Sanjeev Kumar, Head- MHCVs, Ashok Leyland: “These tippers score high on fluid efficiency, durability and reliability. The powerful H6 4V engine along with heavy duty drivelines deliver best-in-class performance with optimum gradeability suitable for all construction and mining related surface transportation.”
The AVTR 4825 H6 4V tippers are factory fitted with the 29 cu. m. box body, while 18 cu. m and 23 cu. m variants are also available along with an option of U-shaped body. It is suitable for surface transportation of coal, as well as for infrastructure and road construction projects.
Ashok Leyland, like other leading CV OEMs, is seeing growing demand for both its medium and heavy commercial vehicles (M&HCVs) as well as light commercial vehicles (LCVs) in the ongoing fiscal year.
The CV major has reported a 145% increase in YoY quarter revenues in Q1 FY2023 to Rs 7,223 crore (Q1 FY2022: Rs 2,951 crore) which comes on the back of domestic market wholesales of 37,124 units, a year-on-year increase of 124% (Q1 FY2022: 16,550 units) and overseas shipments of 2,527 units, up 76% (Q1 FY2022 exports: 1,437 units).
