No question, it was the weekend of Mainz. Thanks to a last-minute goal in Augsburg, the 05ers secured an away three, and a “MeenzerMeedsche” and an “05er” conceded in our Opel Post online betting game. The “MeenzerMeedsche” even jumps to the top of our overall rating. But: The day’s victory must be left to someone else after this 3rd matchday, namely the “oracle”. Sometimes nouns are omens after all.
The fact that the Frankfurters are still not out of their quark and only play 1-1 against Cologne at home – the “oracle” knew it. The fact that the ambitious Red Bulls from Leipzig, who actually want to challenge Bayern this season, go home without points after their visit to the “Iron” from Berlin – that may surprise others, but not the “Oracle”. And the away win of the Mainzers was also on the list with the exact result. The only thing that the “oracle” didn’t say was that the newly promoted team from Bremen would win in Dortmund. But nobody else in our tip community either.

In any case: 24 daily points, even the “Meenzer Meedsche” with its strong 20 cannot keep up. However, it also jumps up 20 places in the overall ranking – and ends up in 1st place. The “05er”, on the other hand, has to go into the play-off against the “Wadenbeisser” with his 19 points. With him, of course, a noun is not an omen. He is defeated because he has two points fewer than the “05er” in the overall ranking. That is bad luck. But that’s football. And betting game even more so.
