He added that inaugurating this all-women dealership is in keeping with Tata Motor’s efforts to augment gender inclusion, not just within the company, but also in “our stakeholder community and the wider industry”.
Amba also said Hyderabad is a key market for Tata Motors and both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are important to its growth strategy. Highlighting their importance, he revealed that in FY22, the company witnessed a growth of 82 percent as compared to the previous year in its passenger vehicle sales portfolio with a market share of 13 percent in the region. Further, stressing on the importance of the southern region- Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu — Amba said the company increased its sales network to 319 outlets last year and service centres to 163 stations as of April 2022.
Rajendra Prasad Vankayalapati, Managing Director, VVC and VR Group, said, “With this initiative, we also hope to help bring more diversity to the larger auto sales and aftersales community which has largely been known to be a male-dominated field.”
