Southeast Asian gaming and e-commerce major Sea Ltd has finalised the acquisition of Indonesian general insurance player PT Asuransi Mega Pratama in a move seen to expand its financial services play in the region’s largest market.
Shopee’s parent company Sea Ltd has, through its Indonesian entity PT Wahana Mandiri Cemerlang, acquired 99.85% of Mega Pratama’s shareholder Prima Eksekutif, a top executive at Indonesian financial services authority OJK said.
