Manfred Döss becomes the new chairman of the supervisory board at car manufacturer Audi. The lawyer was elected to succeed Herbert Diess on Thursday and will take over the position with immediate effect, Audi AG said. Döss has been on the supervisory board of the VW subsidiary since the beginning of September.
Diess resigned as CEO at Volkswagen on September 1. According to company circles, the 63-year-old should remain active as a consultant at Volkswagen.
The new head of the supervisory board comes from the ranks of the Volkswagen Group: Döss switched to Porsche in 2013 and became a member of the board there in 2016. In the same year he took over the post of chief legal officer at VW. In February of this year, Döss moved to the position of Board Member for Integrity and Legal Affairs at VW.
