Just over a year ago, Michael Jost was mainly concerned with charging curves and battery capacities in electric cars. But in the spring of 2021, the 60-year-old handed in his ID card in Wolfsburg and decided to become self-employed. The chief strategist of the Volkswagen Group no longer wanted to develop supposedly groundbreaking concepts for the future that were only recorded on paper, but wanted to hold a real product in his hands.
In the team of former VW CEO Herbert Diess, Michael Jost was one of the key protagonists of the electric strategy. The fact that Volkswagen is now one of the most important manufacturers of electric cars on a global scale is also largely due to the former chief strategist.
