Hamilton Lane has named Kerrine Koh to lead its Singapore, JPMorgan Chase & Co has anointed Wai Mei Hong as senior country officer for the city-state while Thunes has appointed a chief people officer.
Hamilton Lane appoints SG office head
Nasdaq-listed global alternative asset manager Hamilton Lane announced that it has expanded its presence in Singapore and appointed Kerrine Koh to lead the office in the city-state.
According to a statement, Hamilton Lane is also partnering with Singapore-based fintech platform StashAway, furthering its commitment to enabling access to the private markets for a broader set of investors.
Koh joins Hamilton Lane as managing director within the firm’s client solutions group, where she will be leading business development efforts and managing existing client relationships across Southeast Asia.
She brings a wealth of industry experience and strong local knowledge, having joined from BlackRock where she served in various capacities during the last 12 years.
The announcement comes as Hamilton Lane continues to expand its digital asset platform, having recently appointed Victor Jung as head of digital assets and partnered with Singapore-based digital securities exchange ADDX to offer tokenised access to the firm’s Global Private Assets Fund.
The fund is accessible to ADDX investors at a minimum ticket size of $10,000 and has generated strong interest thus far.
Hamilton Lane has more than $832 billion in assets under management and supervision, composed of $108 billion in discretionary assets and more than $724 billion in non-discretionary assets, as of June 30, 2022.
JPMorgan appoints senior country officer for SG
JPMorgan Chase & Co has appointed Wai Mei Hong as senior country officer for Singapore, effective Oct 1, per a report on Bloomberg.
Edmund Lee, the bank’s current senior country officer in the city-state, will become vice-chair of Asia-Pacific, the memo shows.
In this role, she will help facilitate client engagement, drive local governance and controls and ensure strong coordination.
Hong has more than 25 years of experience in the banking industry, 15 of them with JPMorgan, according to the memo.
The move comes as the bank has promoted leaders in the region from within its ranks. Tammi Yong, who joined JPMorgan in 2015, was named head of investment banking for Malaysia in June, according to a memo seen by Bloomberg News.
Thunes names chief people officer
Thunes, a global cross-border payments company, has announced the appointment of Matt van Geldere as the company’s new chief people officer.
In this role, Matt will lead Thunes’ global human resources strategy during its rapid growth phase. That includes talent acquisition, training and leadership development, as well as building and maintaining company culture, diversity and inclusion.
Matt brings more than 20 years of professional experience in human resources and business transformation across the digital advertising and telecommunications industries.
Prior to joining Thunes, he served in various global HR and Transformation leadership roles at ad-tech giant Criteo, where he led strategic change initiatives across 20 countries.
Before joining Criteo, Matt held different global and regional HR leadership positions at Easynet Global Services, a global provider of managed networking, hosting and cloud integration services.
