Singapore-based cashback platform ShopBack has announced that its chief commercial officer, Candice Ong, has stepped down from her role, while Deutsche Bank AG has named veteran Credit Suisse Group AG executive Jin Yee Young as head of its international private bank in Asia-Pacific.
ShopBack’s CCO Candice Ong steps down
Singapore-based cashback platform ShopBack has announced that its chief commercial officer (CCO) Candice Ong has stepped down from her role.
Ong, who joined ShopBack in 2017, will continue to serve as a non-executive director on the company’s board, according to a LinkedIn post by the company.
The University of Virginia alumna also serves on the boards of Enterprise Singapore and the Infocomm Media Development Authority of Singapore’s logistics-focused subsidiary Pick Network.
“Candice was instrumental in building ShopBack’s culture, scaling across geographies, inspiring fellow leaders, and helping fellow ShopBackers grow, professionally and personally. We will aspire to continue living out our ShopBack values just as you have,”the company said in the LinkedIn post.
ShopBack, which counts SoftBank Ventures Asia and Rakuten Capital as its investors, offers cashback and other rewards for brands and retailers such as Dyson, Lululemon and Foodpanda.
Last week, the startup announced that it raised an additional $80 million in equity in a Series F extension from 65 Equity Partners, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Temasek Holdings. Having raised $80 million from Asia Partners in July this year, the total funds raised by ShopBack in its Series F round now stands at $160 million. It has raised over $310 million in total funding to date.
Deutsche Bank ropes in Credit Suisse veteran
Deutsche Bank has named veteran Credit Suisse Group executive Jin Yee Young as head of its international private bank in Asia-Pacific, per a Bloomberg report.
In this new role, Young continues to be based in Singapore and will replace Lok Yim, who is stepping down from the role after six years.
Young, a veteran of 20 years at the Swiss firm, is the highest-ranking wealth departure in Asia so far at Credit Suisse, the portal reported.
She’s deputy to Benjamin Cavalli, the regional head of private banking, as well as chief executive officer of the SymAsia Foundation Ltd., a non-profit group handling philanthropic activities of the bank’s wealthy clients. Before joining Credit Suisse, she worked for DBS Group Holdings Ltd. and Citigroup Inc.
