Due to possible brake problems, the carmaker Opel is recalling around 194,000 Insignia models to the workshops. The ABS control unit is to be updated with a software update, the trade journal “Kfz-Betrieb” reported on Friday. Vehicles built between 2018 and 2020 are affected. An Opel spokesman confirmed the recall initiated by the Federal Motor Transport Authority.
Under certain conditions, braking distances can increase if hydraulic brake compensation is not activated. So far, however, no incidents involving property damage or personal injury have been reported. In Germany, 66,967 vehicles are affected. Last week, Opel recalled more than 200,000 small Corsa cars.
