People Digest: Appointment updates from JPMorgan, Partners Group

JPMorgan Chase & Co and Partners Group have announced new appointment updates in the Asia-Pacific region.

JPMorgan appoints payments head

JPMorgan Chase & Co. has appointed Madhav Kalyan as head of payments for the Asia Pacific, Bloomberg reported. This appointment is a part of a reshuffle of its senior executives in the region.

Kalyan is succeeding Sridhar Kanthadai, who will become co-head of global payment rails and payment VAS.

Kalyan joined the US bank in 2009 as head of corporate banking for India and was named senior country officer for the South Asian country in 2021.

The firm also appointed Kaustubh Kulkarni as India’s senior country officer at JPMorgan. Meanwhile, Navin Wadhwani was named as its investment banking chief for India.

Recently, JPMorgan Chase & Co appointed Wai Mei Hong as the senior country officer for Singapore.

Martin Scott to take on expanded role at Partners Group 

Swiss private markets firm Partners Group has announced that Martin Scott, Partner, Global Executive Board member, and Director of Australia, will take on an expanded role in the region, focused on increasing investment sourcing and transactions in Australia and New Zealand. 

The appointment represents a new phase for Partners Group in Australia and underscores the ambitious investment growth plans for the firm in the region. 

Partners Group is further strengthening its business in Australia with the hiring of Andrew Kateiva as head of institutional sales and managing director of client solutions.  

Partners Group has $63 billion in private equity AUM and has historically invested about 15-20% of its global capital in Asia.
