The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has appointed Gillian Tan as chief sustainability officer while Crown Digital has announced several key hires.
MAS names Gillian Tan as chief sustainability officer
The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has appointed Gillian Tan as chief sustainability officer from 17 October 2022, according to an announcement.
This position adds to her current role as assistant managing director (Development & International). She will replace chief sustainability officer Darian McBain, who will leave the authority in December 2022 to pursue other interests.
In her current role, Tan oversees strategies to develop Singapore as an international financial centre, including sustainable finance capabilities and solutions.
“Promoting sustainable finance and climate resilience have grown significantly in the last two years as areas of priority for MAS,” said Ravi Menon, Managing Director, MAS.
Crown Digital announces new key hires
Crown Digital, the Singapore-based, full-stack hardware and software tech startup behind robot barista Ella, has announced a slew of new hires to strengthen its leadership team ahead of its expansion plans over the coming months.
The company has appointed Arno Gruner as the group chief finance officer and Sylvain Barraud as head of technology and engineering.
As Ella continues to scale up, Arno will be overseeing financial matters, business support functions and investor relations.
Meanwhile, Barraud spearheads technological developments, including the development of new Ella models to suit B2B and B2C solutions. He has joined the team from Softbank Robotics Japan.
In April 2022, Crown Digital raised a S$5-million seed round.
